The popular Trail range includes the Goshawk 2EX works well for adventurers who need a tough, practical tent. The tent has a main front door and a smaller side door, plus a long porch area for storing gear, or keeping out of the weather. A smaller back porch means you can choose which side you use depending on the wind and weather direction.
Tough tenting
Robens uses high quality materials to make the Goshawk tents including:
- Robens HydroTex HD RS 75D ripstop polyester which has 5,000mm hydrostatic head
- Yunon #7001 T6 aluminium alloy poles
The tent design, with the flat pole sleeve design, means the’re lower wind resistance, it sheds rain quickly and prevents snow building up. After testing the pitched Goshawk 2EX, Robens claims the tent can stand winds up 76mph (123kmh).
Erect in no time

Despite its size, it won’t take you long to erect the tent because it includes rapid Clamcleat guyline and alloy buckle adjustment. Colour-coded poles and sleeves also make it easy to pitch.
Closed at one end, the sleeves use a ‘Fast-Foot Cup’ so you can quickly secure and place the poles. A nice touch are the guyline retainers which prevent them from tangling when packed up.
Easy living space

Adventurers sleeping in the transverse inner have their own porch and outer door. The inner hangs off new, secure clips, and the big inner doors give occupants lots of space for coming in and out. The size of the doors make it easy to sit next to each other without stretching the fabric.
Keep your essential kit to hand in the wall pockets, and dry your socks off on the gear rope. The big air vents at the back and front will keep condensation out.
At 4.4kg, the Goshawk 2EX is light for its size, and measures 46cm x 22cm when packed. It’s easy to transport it in its own roll-top storage bag.
