Thetford introduces new separation toilets and conversion kits

Separation toilets are becoming increasingly popular as they use less water, reduce the need for chemical additives, and simplify waste disposal. During the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2024, Thetford presented a prototype of its new separation toilet, which generated significant interest among campers and manufacturers. A year later, at the end of August 2025, the separation toilet will officially hit the market.

Complete separation toilet or conversion kit

Thetford offers two product lines:

• S-Series (S220 and S260): A complete separation toilet designed to replace existing models.

• SK-Series (SK220 and SK260): A conversion kit that easily transforms an existing Thetford cassette toilet into a separation toilet.

Both options are based on the popular Thetford C220 and C260 S models, with over 2.5 million units already in use across Europe. This allows many campers to upgrade their current toilet easily.

Innovations in hygiene and ease of use

Market research shows that campers are concerned about the hygiene and usability of separation toilets. Thetford has given extra attention to these aspects in the new series, featuring:

• A patented valve to prevent visual contact with waste.

• A leak-free connection for optimal drainage of the urine tank.

• An optional fan with a carbon filter to eliminate unpleasant odors.

• A urine tank with a level indicator – mechanical for the 220 series and electronic for the 260 series.

• The use of recycled plastic in both the urine and waste tanks.

Accessories for Thetford separation toilets

To further enhance the usability of these separation toilets, Thetford is introducing special accessories and additives, including:

• An odor control product for the urine tank.

• A toilet bowl spray to keep the toilet clean and hygienic.

• A drying agent (absorber/dehumidifier) for solid waste.

• Recycled plastic bags for solid waste.

These products will be available alongside the launch of the separation toilets in August.

The recommended retail price for the conversion kits (SK220 and SK260) is €599, while the new separation toilets (S220 and S260) start at €850. The optional fan kit is available for €120.
