With standard four-wheel drive on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, all-terrain tyres, underbody protection and a powerful LED light bar, the German motorhome manufacturer is targeting adventurous campers who want to leave the asphalt behind without compromising on luxury.

What makes the Hymer Crossover 2027 different from a standard motorhome?

The Hymer Crossover line is designed for those who want to travel further off the beaten track. While a standard motorhome relies on campsites and paved roads, the 2027 model year Crossover series combines robust off-road equipment with a high-end interior design.

Hymer is launching two variants: the Hymer ML-T 570 Crossover (a semi-integrated motorhome) and the camper van Hymer Grand Canyon S 600 Crossover. Both vehicles are built on the proven Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis and stand out due to their unique exterior. The ML-T 570 features the new Tarmac Grey exterior colour combined with an obsidian black cab and the Native Bamboo interior theme. The Grand Canyon S 600 camper van is finished in Schiefergrau with Ivy Green accents and features an electric off-road step.

How long can you stay off-grid and wild camp with the new Hymer Crossover?

Thanks to the comprehensive installation package, under normal conditions you can stay completely self-sufficient (off-grid) and wild camp for up to 10 days in the Hymer Crossover models, without relying on shore power or a service station.

This is made possible by:

• Smart energy management: A powerful lithium battery setup combined with standard solar panels on the roof.

• Independent heating: An efficient 6 kW diesel heater with an electric heating element and altitude kit, ensuring the heating works flawlessly even at altitudes above 1,500 metres without rapidly depleting your gas supply.

• Water & sanitation: An integrated water filter system and a second toilet cassette, meaning you have to visit a disposal station much less frequently.

What are the off-road specifications of the ML-T 570 and Grand Canyon S 600?

Both special edition models are equipped as standard to tackle tough terrain, mud, snow and loose stones. The key technical specifications at a glance:

• Base vehicle: Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with a 190 hp (140 kW) engine.

• Drive: Permanent four-wheel drive (4MATIC / Torque-on-Demand).

• Off-road features: All-terrain/all-season tyres, increased ground clearance, underbody protection under the engine and water tank, and a powerful LED light bar above the cab.

• Layout ML-T 570 (semi-integrated motorhome): Rear single beds, spacious seating area, length approx. 6.89 metres, headroom in the living area 1.98 metres.

• Layout Grand Canyon S 600 (camper van): Rear transverse bed, agile length of approx. 5.93 metres.

• Weight & driving licence: The maximum permissible weight (MTM) for the ML-T 570 Crossover is 4,100 kg. This means you will need a C1 driving licence for this version.

How much does the Hymer Crossover 2027 cost in the Netherlands (BPM & VAT)?

The official retail prices for the 2027 model year have not yet been finalised by Hymer. For comparison: in Germany, the ML-T Crossover previously started at around 159,900 euros.

Dutch calculation & price indication:

• Estimated German retail price: approx. 160,000 euros

• Estimated Dutch BPM (vehicle tax) on Sprinter 4×4 chassis: approx. 18,000 – 24,000 euros (depending on the CO₂ emissions of the 4×4 version)

• Estimated Dutch retail price (incl. VAT & BPM): expected starting price between 185,000 and 195,000 euros.
