Dethleffs Summer Edition 730 FKR offers up to eight berths
Dethleffs has got off to a flying start with the Summer Edition. The model series, introduced last year, now features eleven layouts. One of the latest is the 730 FKR. In this caravan – a twin-axle model with a total length of 9.45 metres – you can sleep up to eight people. A true family caravan indeed.
What makes the layout of the Dethleffs Summer Edition 730 FKR special?
The Dethleffs Summer Edition 730 FKR has a layout designed for large families. At the front, there is a French bed measuring 2 x 1.55 metres with an adjacent washroom. In the middle, there is a double bunk bed with its own seating area next to it. This can also be converted into an extra berth. From this autumn, Dethleffs will offer an additional bunk bed, increasing the number of berths from seven to eight.
At the rear, we find another seating area: a spacious U-shaped lounge. This can also be converted into a bed measuring 2.30 x 1.55 metres. Wooden sliding doors make it possible to divide the interior into separate living and sleeping areas. Very convenient if you want to play a game in the evening while the kids are already fast asleep.
What equipment does this large Dethleffs family caravan have?
As we have come to expect from the Summer Edition, the 730 FKR is also very well-equipped. The kitchen features a 137-litre fridge, including a 15-litre freezer compartment. Heating is provided by a 6 kW Truma S 5004 gas heater. The Combi 6 G/E is optionally available, which works on both gas and electricity.
The caravan also has ten 230V power sockets and two USB ports. The fresh water tank has a total capacity of 38 litres, of which 15 litres can be carried while driving.
At 650 millimetres, the habitation door is comfortably wide, and a flyscreen door keeps insects out.
Plenty of space, but also a big boy
With a total length of 9.45 metres and a width of 2.50 metres, the Summer Edition 730 FKR is a substantial caravan. It is a twin-axle model with a body length of 8.15 metres, giving you plenty of living space inside. The caravan has a mass in running order of 1,829 kg and a technically permissible maximum mass of 2,500 kg. This gives you a basic payload of 671 kg. Keep in mind that the weight of any factory options will be deducted from this.
