Camping star news: these are the new ADAC Superplätze

Campsite Ratings

A campsite cannot simply join the ranks of ADAC Superplatze. To do so, they must meet all sorts of criteria and also score above average on them. In order to assess the campsites, the ADAC inspectors travel through Europe. Once on site, they check the entire condition of the campsite, but also things like the sanitary facilities, the recreational facilities, the catering, the play area and the swimming pool. In total, they look at no less than 250 points that are the same throughout Europe. Does a campsite get five stars? Then it can call itself ADAC Superplatz.

Record in 2025

Things are going well for campsites in Europe, as 12 new campsites have been awarded the title ADAC Superplatz by 2025. The total number of ADAC Superplatze will reach 200 by 2025, which is more than ever. Last year, there were 192. The fact that the number is not at 204 is because there are also campsites that are losing their title or no longer exist.

Demanding campers

Uwe Frers, CEO of PiNCAMP, says about the number of new five-star campsites: “The total of twelve new ADAC Superplatze is a strong indicator of the development of the camping industry: higher quality for increasingly demanding campers.” ADAC, like the ANWB, has been working together on the PiNCAMP camping platform since last year.

Country with the most ADAC Superplatz

The highest number of these star campsites can be found in la douce France, where no fewer than 47 campsites can call themselves ADAC Superplatz. Italy is in second place with 40 Superplätze and in third place is our own Netherlands, a shared place with Croatia. Both countries have 26 of ADAC’s best-rated campsites. Also the Neder
