As agile as a camper van with the interior space of a semi-integrated vehicle; that is the Challenger S215. This compact semi-integrated vehicle lives up to its name, as it is only 2.10 metres wide.
The French Challenger, like its sister brand Chausson, produces sporty campers that always have something extra. This is no different in the 6.59-metre long Challenger S215 for model year 2025. This compact semi-integrated has a French bed, but still chooses a slightly different layout than is customary there.
A layout with a French bed can normally be drawn. The bed is located in the back with the bathroom next to it. Not so in the Challenger S215. There, the bed is where you would expect it to be, but the bathroom has been given a different location.
But first about that French bed, which is 1.43 meters wide at the head end and 1.88 meters long at the window side. So not a bed for tall campers. The high bed is striking. This creates space underneath for a large garage that can even fit a bicycle. There is also space under the bed for clothes and other items.
Next to the bed is a cupboard, which means that there is no room left for the bathroom. The vario bathroom with rotating washbasin wall and toilet is therefore placed in the middle of the camper, opposite the kitchen.
The kitchen is equipped with two gas burners and a rectangular sink. Both have a cover plate that can be used as a work space. The refrigerator, under the gas stove, has a capacity of 68 litres. The kitchen counter has an extension for even more storage space.
The Challenger S215 has a seating group that is comparable to bus campers and other semi-integrated vehicles, with a dinette bench, a table with an extra top and a narrow bench on the passenger side. The cabin seats are rotatable. There are four approved seats in total. A third bed can be made from the dinette.
The Challenger S215 has the Ford Transit as its base vehicle. In the Break Edition, this compact semi-integrated has a white exterior. The standard equipment includes automatic cabin air conditioning, a double airbag, an electric handbrake, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, cruise control and a speed limiter.
In the Sport Edition, the exterior is matt grey, with black 16-inch alloy wheels. The version is slightly more extensive, with, among other things, an automatic gearbox and a water connection on the outside.
In Germany, the Challenger S215 has a starting price of 60,990 euros. For the Netherlands, VAT and bpm are added.
