Clever Vans Duo 540: compact with a refreshing layout

In the back, of course! Clever Vans has created a seating area with face-to-face benches against the bed. With this layout, the camper van brand, part of the Pössl Group, is following a trend that we are increasingly seeing. In the past year, La Strada, the new Freedom brand and Weinsberg, among others, have chosen the same spot for their seating area.

For solo travelers or duos

Clever Vans presents the Duo 540 as a camper van for solo travellers or couples. Thanks to its compact dimensions of 5.41 x 2.05 x 2.64 metres (lxwxh), this is a camper van that campers can use to move around the city and the countryside just as easily. The bed in the back is 1.90 metres long and 80 centimetres wide. And that is big enough for someone travelling alone. Those who prefer to sleep stretched out or are travelling as a couple can slide out the slatted base over the benches, creating a bed of 1.50 metres wide.

Extra seat with table

Of course, it is no longer possible to sit on the benches. In that case, it is useful to choose a swivel passenger seat from the options list, so that there is an extra seat. If you fold out the worktop extension on the end of the kitchen unit, you immediately have a table to put down a cup or plate, for example.

Bathroom and kitchen

The bathroom is quite spacious for a 5.41-metre camper, with a toilet, shower, fixed washbasin and a shelf for toiletries. Showering in the camper is no problem, because the washbasin, toilet and walls are coated with water-repellent material. By choosing the optional slatted door, a shower curtain is unnecessary.

Drinks from outside

In the kitchen, a 70-litre compressor refrigerator with freezer compartment on the end side. This is also accessible from outside. Nice when you want to grab a drink without having to walk all the way inside. The kitchen is also equipped with a two-burner stove and an integrated sink, both with their own glass cover. Drawers and a wall cupboard offer space for food, pans and crockery.

Clever Vans Duo 540 clever features

Clever Vans has also added a few clever features to the Duo 540, such as a foldable shelf that hangs on the outside of the bathroom. This shelf can be used as a stool or as an extra table. The table between the face-to-face benches is also flexible; thanks to the rail, this table can slide.

Sporty types can take their bike on holiday. It fits perfectly under the bed at the back of the camper van.

Dealers in Germany and Belgium

The Clever Vans Duo 540 is not completely new. However, this bus camper has received a major update for model year 2025. The base vehicle is the Citroën Jumper with a 140 hp engine. The Netherlands does not have a Clever Vans dealer. This compact camper is widely available in Germany and Belgium. The German starting price is 46,990 euros.
