Enjoying a cosy evening drink with six people in the huge rear lounge and stretching out in the single beds above the cab at night? It is all possible in the new Dethleffs Trend I 7027. This A-class motorhome is completely geared towards couples who want to enjoy maximum living space during the day. Consequently, you won't find a fixed bed in this Trend I 7027.

With this 7.40-metre-long motorhome, Dethleffs is expanding its Trend series, which is priced in the mid-range segment. The series consists of low-profile and A-class motorhomes, although the 7027 layout is only available as an A-class model.

How does the electric drop-down bed with single beds work in the Dethleffs Trend I 7027?

Instead of a fixed bed above the garage, Dethleffs has opted for an electrically operated drop-down bed above the cab in the Trend I 7027. At the touch of a button, the two separate longitudinal beds measuring 210 x 75 cm are ready for use. A striking choice by the motorhome manufacturer, as most drop-down beds are transverse. However, there are certainly motorhomes with longitudinal drop-down beds, such as the new liner-for-two from Carthago. The beds feature thick cold foam mattresses made of climate-regulating material. The absence of a fixed bed creates space at the rear of the Dethleffs Trend I 7027 for a round seating

lounge that comfortably accommodates at least six people. The seating area features continuous cushions, adjustable headrests and a free-standing table. The seating group is wonderfully bright thanks to three large panoramic windows all around and the skylight (75 x 105 cm). The wood-look floor is completely flat, running all the way from the cab to the seating area. The kitchen can be found in the middle of the motorhome, just in front of the seating group. The overh

The kitchen unit is further equipped with a two-burner gas hob, a round sink and a worktop with plenty of workspace. The 137-litre fridge with a 15-litre freezer compartment is located opposite the kitchen on the passenger side. It is very spacious! The shower cubicle is located to the right of the entrance door. crete-look rear wall and a black shower column with integrated LED lighting plus a storage basket. There is a wooden duckboard on the floor. The large roof hatch provides ventilation, and the built-in drying rail allows you to hang up a wet towel, for example.

Opposite the shower cubicle is a rotating Thetford cassette toilet and a wooden vanity unit in a corner arrangement with a mirror cabinet above it. The open shelves and cabinet under the sink offer plenty of storage space for toiletries. The window lets in natural light and can be opened for extra ventilation.

When the toilet door is fully opened, it closes off the passage to the living area. This creates a large bathroom that can also be used as a dressing room. Because there is no fixed bed with storage underneath, the Dethleffs Trend I 7027 is equipped with low

wardrobes behind the cab seats. The wardrobes feature hanging rails and lighting. The doors open towards the seats, so the wardrobes are still accessible when the drop-down bed is lowered.

Camping furniture, bicycles and other large luggage can be stored in the rear garage, which is accessible via two garage doors measuring 90 x 80 centimetres. The Trend I 7027 is built on a Fiat Ducato with a low-frame chassis and widened rear axle. As standard

Can I drive the Trend I 7027 with a category B driving licence?

The Trend I 7027 is built on a Fiat Ducato with a low-frame chassis and widened rear axle. As standard, the Ducato is equipped with a 140 hp engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. The options list includes an eight-speed automatic transmission and a 180 hp engine with automatic transmission. In the standard configuration, the maximum total weight remains under 3,500 kg, leaving around 400 kg of payload. Thanks to the weight being under 3,500 kg, a category B driving licence is sufficient. Campers who opt for extra options or prefer more payload can upgrade the maximum total weight to 3,650 kg or 4,250 kg. In that case, a C1 driving licence is required.

This Dethleffs A-class motorhome can be seen for the first time at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.
