Carthago is pulling out all the stops for the 2027 model year. The chic e-line, chic s-plus, and liner-for-two are getting a completely new interior and a more modern exterior. In addition, the brand is expanding its C2-tourer series with a striking face-to-face layout.
The biggest changes can be found in the chic e-line (pictured above this article), chic s-plus, and liner-for-two. For these three top-tier series, Carthago has not only redesigned the exterior, but also the furniture and interior layout.
On the outside, the new rear section is particularly striking. The liners feature full-LED tail lights and a so-called Dual Bridgelight, a light strip that visually connects the rear lights. At the front, the large windscreen and the hexagonal grille with the familiar Carthago logo ensure a recognisable look.
Inside, Carthago has opted for a sleeker furniture design. The overhead cabinets no longer have visible handles, and the kitchen also has a cleaner look thanks to handleless drawers and a floating worktop. An illuminated bar cabinet next to the kitchen adds extra ambience.
The seating area has also been updated. Carthago has shortened the L-shaped bench and the opposite side seat, creating a much wider walkway. Those wishing to watch television or read in comfort in the evening can extend the side seat to turn it into a lounge sofa.
Buyers can choose from two interior styles. Amalfi comes as standard and combines walnut wood with matte white cabinet fronts and worktops in a grey stone look. The optional Cortina style uses more white, slate-grey accents, and worktops with a wood look.
In the redesigned kitchen, central locking for the drawers and flaps is now standard. This is highly practical, as it prevents them from flying open while driving.
The options list has also been significantly expanded. For instance, you can now equip the Carthago liners with a compact dishwasher. Also new are a hybrid hob with induction and two gas burners, and a compressor refrigerator with a capacity of 177 litres.
The bathrooms get new shower walls, corner shelves, indirect LED lighting, and a black shower tray. Depending on the layout, there are also new mirror cabinets and coat hooks.
The chic e-line is available in lengths from 7.89 to 9.03 metres and has a maximum permissible gross weight of 4.5 to 5.5 tonnes. For the base vehicle, buyers can choose between the Fiat Ducato and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
Those who need more payload and towing capacity will find what they need in the chic s-plus on the Iveco Daily. Depending on the version, this motorhome can weigh between 5.6 and 6.7 tonnes and has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 kg. The 3.0-litre diesel engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. The chic s-plus is available in lengths from 7.91 to 8.85 metres.
The liner-for-two retains its striking four-room layout. At the front, there are two electrically lowering single beds. At the very rear is a spacious U-shaped seating area, with the kitchen and bathroom in between.
This model also gets the new furniture, kitchen, and rear design. The pull-out kitchen table is included in the central locking system, and the table in the U-shaped seating area can now be adjusted further in all directions.
Carthago supplies the liner-for-two in lengths from 7.83 to 8.54 metres. The weight ranges from 4.5 to 6.7 tonnes. You can choose from a Fiat Ducato with an AL-KO chassis, as a two- or three-axle version, or an Iveco Daily.
Carthago is known for motorhomes that allow you to go off-grid for longer periods without relying on campsite facilities. For the 2027 model year, these capabilities are being expanded even further.
With extra tanks, the fresh water capacity grows to 310 litres in the chic e-line and 320 litres in the chic s-plus. A fixed toilet tank and a 70-litre gas tank are also added to the options list.
For the power supply, new solar panels of 200 or 400 watts are available. The extensive autonomy package includes a lithium battery with a capacity of 400 Ah. A 5G Wi-Fi router enables internet access in the motorhome and provides app access to various digital on-board management functions.
Other new options include a 360-degree camera system and a Jehnert audio system.
There is news not just for the largest Carthagos. The C2-tourer series is being expanded with the I 146 FF-RB-LE. This 7.30-metre-long A-class motorhome is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and features two longitudinal benches facing each other.
Because the traditional L-shaped seating group is absent and the table can be folded and slid aside, a lot of space to move is created in the middle of the motorhome. According to Carthago, the open floor space is even large enough to be used as a sleeping spot for a dog.
Before setting off, you can convert the two longitudinal benches into two forward-facing travel seats, complete with seat belts. This allows the motorhome to retain four approved travel seats.
The L-shaped kitchen connects to the bathroom wall and therefore does not form an obstacle between the seating area and the door. Next to the entrance is a 133-litre absorption refrigerator. At the rear, there are two single beds.
Notably, Carthago is not only supplying the new I 146 FF-RB-LE as a 4.2-tonne comfort version. There will also be a lightweight version with a maximum permissible gross weight of 3,500 kg.
Despite the length of 7.30 metres, the manufacturer states that there is still room for options such as an automatic transmission, awning, satellite system, and alloy wheels. How much payload remains in practice naturally depends on the chosen version and accessories.
In addition, the C1- and C2-tourer are getting a new 7-inch digital control panel. Via a smartphone app, you can view and control various functions in the motorhome. Carthago is also introducing the new Imperia interior style, featuring matte white cabinet fronts, wood accents, and a floating kitchen worktop.
The chic c-line on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter already received the new front end in v-Face design last year. For the 2027 model year, the A-class version on the Fiat Ducato follows suit.
The sharp lines and the large chrome-plated Carthago logo give the motorhome a more modern face. Additionally, the exterior graphics from the Mercedes version will now be used on the Fiat models.
