Laika has definitively chosen the Mercedes Sprinter as the base vehicle for the Kreos series. From now on, the low-profile and A-class motorhomes will only be available on a Mercedes chassis. To celebrate this, Laika is launching a new flagship for the Kreos series: the H 5109 MB A-class motorhome. Particularly striking are the exterior colours with accents in, for example, rose gold or aqua.
The Laika Kreos series, consisting of low-profile and A-class motorhomes, is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. At its launch in 2021, the motorhomes were only available on a Fiat Ducato chassis. This changed in early 2025, when Laika presented the low-profile Kreos L 5009 MB on a Mercedes chassis. Now, Laika has firmly chosen the Mercedes as the sole base vehicle for the Kreos.
To illustrate this choice, Laika is introducing the Kreos H 5109 MB at the upcoming Caravan Salon. The base vehicle is the Sprinter 417 with an AL-KO chassis, a 170 hp engine, and a 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox, which will become standard for all motorhomes in the Kreos series going forward. For the exterior, Laika draws inspiration from legendary sports cars. There are three variants, with the Black Carbon Design – based on exclusive hypercars – being th
closest to the familiar Laika exterior style. Groundbreaking additions include the Grand-Prix Design, named after Grand Prix cars and featuring aqua accents, and the Rosegold Design with rose-gold striping from Mercedes’ premium line. Both design variants can be seen in the main photos of this article.
Incidentally, this is not the first time Laika has looked to sports cars for inspiration. They also served as an inspiration for the Laika Kosmo Supremo campervan series introduced last year. This is partly due to the long-standing collaboration with the prestigious car design company GFG Style. Inside the Laika Kreos H 5109 MB, the recognizable Deep Ocean interior style is featured, which is also used in other Laika models. The Icy Grey option is available on the options list. The floor of the H 5109 MB is completely flat. In the front lounge – with an L-shaped sofa, side bench, and swivelling cab seats – the round table stands out, another highly characteristic feature of the Italian brand. The 153-litre AES fridge is positioned to the left of the entrance, with the kitchen unit opposite it. This is equipped with three gas burners and an oven, among other things. For the worktop, Laika has once again chosen the high-quality GetaCore solid surface material.
As we have come to expect from Laika, the bathroom is designed as a true wellness oasis. It includes a rain shower and a second handheld shower head. Furthermore, there are plenty of mirrors and ample storage space.
The single beds at the rear of the motorhome measure 195 x 80 cm and are equipped with Froli disc springs and a foam mattress. The upholstered headboard features integrated storage compartments, LED lights, and USB ports. The sleeping area can be closed off from the rest of the motorhome with a sliding door. Two additional berths can be found in the electrically operated drop-down bed (195 x 140 cm) above the seating area.
The new Laika Kreos H 5109 MB will be on display for the first time at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, which starts on Friday, 28 August.
