The Malibu Relax was launched last year. The camper van is now gaining a layout with a height-adjustable bed: the 640 LE XR. In addition, there is a new interior for the Genius, and updates for the camper vans, semi-integrated, and fully-integrated motorhomes.
One year after the premiere of the Malibu Relax 640 LE R on the Fiat Ducato, a second layout is being introduced. While the 640 LE R features single beds that can be folded up to the side, the new 640 LE XR has a height-adjustable longitudinal bed. By choosing the highest setting, a rear garage with a height of 1.45 metres is created underneath. This allows e-bikes, for example, to be stored safely.
The bed is accessed via steps that are cleverly hidden in a cabinet on the left side. Thanks to the locking mechanism, the steps remain secure while climbing in or out. No need for the steps? They neatly disappear from view, keeping the area around the bed clear.
The new Malibu Relax will make its official debut at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. We will take a close look at it there and share more about this efficient camper van later.
With the Genius camper van, Malibu shook up the motorhome world in 2024. The brand was determined to use the Mercedes Sprinter as the base vehicle, but specifically with a length of 6.40 metres. And Mercedes couldn’t deliver that. So Malibu added a section themselves, resulting in the innovative Malibu Genius 641 LE.
Two years later, Malibu is equipping the Genius with the new Lucca interior style, which features a light walnut decor, handleless overhead cabinets, and larger furniture surfaces in matte grey. In addition, the Sprinter – which comes with rear-wheel drive as standard – is now optionally available as a 4×4.
Malibu already gave the interiors of its semi-integrated and integrated motorhomes a major overhaul last year. For the 2027 model year, the focus is therefore on updates. For example, the exterior of the semi-integrated models has been refreshed, aligning their design more closely with the integrated motorhomes, which underwent this transformation last year. In addition, the semi-integrated and integrated motorhomes are now equipped with the Truma iNet X panel, which replaces the CP Plus panel.
For the 2027 model year, Malibu Vans have been fully updated to meet modern requirements, including the mandatory GSR 2 safety systems. Furthermore, the Lucca style world – also seen in the Genius – is now standard. There are also smaller updates, such as more coat hooks, an anthracite-coloured shower tray, and a simpler closing mechanism for the sliding door. Entirely new is the optional Storm Blue metallic exterior colour.
