Mercedes’ Marco Polo Horizon: from everyday car to camper
The V-Class is 10 years old and that is a reason for a party at Mercedes-Benz. For this anniversary, the brand is giving the Marco Polo Horizon a new look. This all-rounder is nice and slim and feels just as much at home in the busy city as in the great outdoors.
New are the double sliding doors, one on each side. Volkswagen also opts for this with the New California. At the front, the renewed grille with the adaptive Multibeam LED headlights stands out, which ensure even more visibility and safety while driving. The rear of the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo Horizon has also been updated, including newly designed lighting. There is a choice of different colours for the exterior.
Seven seats
The interior of the Marco Polo Horizon is primarily geared towards daily use. If desired, there are even seven seats available. Handy for sports matches at the weekend. With its dimensions of 5.47 x 1.93 metres, this Mercedes moves easily through the city. Thanks to its height of 1.91 metres, it can even find a place in most parking garages.
Transformation into a camper
After a week of commuting to work, shopping and sports clubs, the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo Horizon is ready for some relaxation at the weekend. In that case, this all-rounder can be transformed into a camper for five people in no time. The three-seater bench on rails easily transforms into a bed measuring 1.93 x 1.35 metres. The pop-up roof also houses a bed measuring 2.05 x 1.13 metres. According to Mercedes, these two sleeping places are large enough for five campers. They shouldn’t mind sleeping close to each other, because in practice this will be too cramped for most people.
No kitchen
A camper interior is not to be found in the Marco Polo Horizon. A table with cup holders is available. This fits between the bench and the swiveling cabin seats and is perfectly suitable for five people. Luggage is given a place in the two drawers under the bench. Campers must bring their own cool box.
Renovated cabin
The cabin of the updated Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo Horizon also features a number of changes, including a new centre console (with phone charging function), a luxury heated steering wheel, two 12.3-inch screens and Mercedes’ MBUX multimedia system.
Various equipment packages
Mercedes offers various packages for the equipment of the Marco Polo Horizon, such as a Premium Plus package with leather seats and air conditioning or the sporty AMG Line package. In Germany, the Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo Horizon has a starting price of 58,940 euros.
